F'n Cyber Squatters

(Brian)

For those of you that manage to find this post, welcome. Frequent visitors might have noticed the 2societystudios.com is no longer the site that promotes the League of Extraordinarily Stupid Gentlemen... No... Instead a CyberSquatter stole my humble domain when I received no reminder that it was close to expiring. Well, we will (if not already by the time you read this) be getting a few new addresses. You will now be able to reach the official 2 Society Studios website by going to 2society-studios.com; theLXSG.com and 2SScomics.com. We've secured them for a while and Nick from Preston and Steve deleted the old link so to those trying to steal our thunder by squatting on our domain... to Quote 40 Year old Virgin... "I'm ripping your head off... It's off... and now I'm throwing it at your body...FUCK YOU!!!"

Perhaps it's herald of a new era... After all... Manerva is coming...

MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!

(Brian)

It has begun!!!!

Bungo and Dawn will go head to head in a death match to entertain Shao Khan...

Actually, I'm lying... BUT the good news is that the primary pencils have begun on the second issue of the LXSG - "If the Animals can find the Strength..." I'm stoked for this issue. There's a lot of fun little weird things going on here to entice the Preston and Steve loyal fans... And not to ruin anything but Pierre Robert kicks a goose in this issue... I'm also going to try and stagger drawing action pages with my exposition pages to try and speed things along. So while nothing will get done in order, I think things will flow more smoothly...

To keep things interesting around here, I am going to try and post pictures of the character sketches for Manerva (Pierre) and maybe a villain or two (What??? There's More than one Villain in this issue??? HOLY CRAP!!!) You know what? Maybe I'll toss the occasional panel or two up to tease you guys as the book gets closer to production... You'll have to ask nice.

Well, keep checking in. We really appreciate the visits.

Where Are We?

(Brian)

It's been forever since I put up a post so I figured I would just let everyone know where I am with stuff...

I am only inches from finishing the Menace Pencils... It's mostly Background stuff I just need to finish up... Hopefully I can finish them this week. The Determining factor will be how well my 6 month old naps tonight and tomorrow. I have off on Thursday so I might be able to finish them by then. I do apologize for the delays, we're moving at the end of the month and there is a lot to take care of before the 30th. Plus, I am still trying to be rid of either one or both of my jobs and that search isn't going very well... Anybody know of some openings?

After I complete the Menace pencils, I'll be all over the Layouts for LXSG issue #2. I am pretty sure I know where I am going with that one so I am not overly concerned and I have a lot of REALLY good reference pictures for the background from my last studio visit. I want to be about 8-9 pages in by the Lost premiere (So I can weasel my way in again - They're great parties and I love the show). I think I can do it as long as my supporting players in the house play along. Luckily, my wife is very supportive and her Second job will be over once the Phillies season ends in October. I'll also be closer regionally to my inker so I can be more aggressive about getting pages back (Kiddin' Dawn)

Well, I'll try to get the new art up shortly and I think I have a plan to ensure everyone who missed issue #1 gets to read it... I just need to work out the details with Dawn.

Ain't that a kick to the face

(Brian)
Well, It turns out I need to retract my previous statement. There are a few comics still available in the shops. I saw a few a TDS Enterprises just over the weekend. I would recommend any one still looking for one to call the three shops and see what's available.
Their numbers are as follows:

TDS Enterprises Presents Comics & Games
22 South Church Street
West Chester, PA 19382
(610) 918-9009

Comic Universe
446 Macdade Boulevard
Folsom, PA 19033
(610) 461-7960

And Last but certainly not least,
Comics and More
King of Prussia Mall
The Plaza, Upper Level
160 N. Gulph Rd., Ste. 2916
King of Prussia, PA 19406
610-337-1555

or in Plymouth Meeting
Plymouth Meeting Mall
Upper Level
500 W. Germantown Pike, Ste. 2015
Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462
610-828-5848

There probably aren't a lot left but it's worth asking... I'll be all over issue #2 as soon as I do two more pages of Menace up there. I am just trying to put together a nice submission package so maybe I can do this full time. Talk to you soon kiddies. And Keep checking back... Maybe I'll show some preview art for next issue.

(Brian)

Long time, no Post. Anyhow, right next to me is the sketch I did for Frank at Comic Universe. I had to bump up the level of the sketch I gave him since I barfed in his store. I had been ill all day and that hit it's peak at the signing.

Well, Issue #1 is sold out... Totally. As such, we are going to try to pound out Issue #2. I can't give out a lot of details but I am digging the script. It'll be a full 22 pages of artwork and it's going to be great. The hardest part will be breaking in our new inker, Dawn (our web designer). I am going to have to be like a North Korean Prison Guard... (Just kidding, Dawn). First things first though. I have to finish the Menace 676 submission package first.

Well, that's pretty much everything from here in 2 Society Studios land. Keep checking in for additional updates.

We're Doing Signings

(Brian)

Hey Everybody, if you didn't hear me on the radio this morning, then... you suck... Actually, you rock if you are even reading this... Anyhow, What you missed was our announcement that we are doing signings of the League of Extraordinarily Stupid Gentlemen comic at two locations this week...

On Wednesday, July 18th we will be at TDS Enterprises presents Comics and Games on Church St in West Chester (My Current stomping grounds). We'll be there from 6pm to 7:30 signing the comic. The first 15 people will also be given a ticket for a quick head sketch (but they'll have to stick around to get it because signing time is limited) The whole creative staff will be there sans Jordi, our inker because, well, I don't know where he's from...

On Thursday, July 19th the same deal will be going on at Comic Universe on MacDade Blvd in Folsom (My old stomping grounds). We'll be signing from 6pm to 7:30 and the first 15 will again get sketches but again will have to wait until the signing time is over.

We'll have a few of our shirts to sell but that stuff is always available on the main page under "Get your Gear" (The more purchased means less I have to work at second job which means issue 2 can come out quicker). Finally, we have yet to get any feedback so if you have any, please send it our way via the "Contact us" page. Thanks

It is finished... At last

(Brian)

Well, I guess it's true what they say: It is always darkest before the dawn... And no I am not talking about my web-designer.

Just as the fate of the LXSG looked extremely dim, Brendan (the Printer) redeemed himself and got the book to us... That's right kiddies...

The League of Extraordinarily Stupid Gentlemen - Issue #1 is complete and printed...

Between Preston and Steve and the ones we'll be distributing, there are approximately 2100 copies floating about. Keep tuned to WMMR and to this blog to learn where to get them. Oh, and they look awesome. Probably the truest representation of the colors from the computer I have ever seen. Quality Concepts did a phenomenal job. It was worth the wait (though don't get me wrong- I want issue #2 BEFORE the convention next year) Still, I can't wait to get feedback from all you guys. I hope you dig it... Now I just need to edit together the clips some of the more obscure jokes came from...

Good-Bye to Wizard World

(Brian)

Well, as you can see, not a whole lot changed between Saturday and Sunday. Actually, Sunday was REALLY slow for us. No Shirts or no sketches were sold. But at least I had some time to wander around and find some of the comics I was looking for.

All in all, it was a very nice experience. It could have been better but we learned a lot of important lessons and made some friends with our neighbors.

So as a fitting tribute, I figured I would share some of the pics from our last day.

You know how often you run across sith lords in training... Pesky buggers pop up everywhere...

These were our neighbors, A Wave Blue World. They make a kick ass comic called Adrenaline. It's a solid read. You can pick some up at their site.

Well, Dawn made a good friend from our neighbors on the other side - Creature Graphic Novels. Then they joined the Green Lantern Corps and flew off to space... Or maybe not... But they got the rings

This was a kick ass chalk drawing they had done inside the convention hall... It took the guy all weekend but it's totally bad ass...

And with that, we say good-bye until next year and ride off into the sunset...

Wizard World - Day 2

(Eric)
Hi all, Bungo here! We survived day 2. It didnt go off without a hitch but it went off. We sold a hell of alot more than we did yesterday. We sold 3 shirts (gave another 1 away to a local preston and steve blood donor) and we sold 1 thong. We had quite a few people recognize us and question our work. And we met a few new friends. Its amazing how many people approached us and commented on our work and product. It was alot of fun and I hope to see some of you tomorrow!

Wizard World - Day 1

(Brian)

Well, we're here at Wizard World. Not a lot of people know about us since the comic wasn't printed and thusly we didn't get on the air. Needless to say, the printer isn't my favorite person right now...

So we are currently promoting shadows of a finished book. But if anyone actually reads this blog, please stop by and say hi. We'll be here all weekend long...

We have shirts for sale and the proof of the LXSG on display. We also have some pages of Menace that are getting worked on here at the show. I'm also doing sketches for $5, $10, and $15 depending on the detail...

A Few Days to Go

(Brian)

Well, no one posted any bad things about me... That's a good thing, I guess. We are only a matter of days from the convention. I am going nuts trying to finish everything. But the good news is the clothes we hope to sell are here and we even got an extra thong out of it. I also dropped off the promos, including the one accompanying this post, at Kinkos. They ought to be ready by Thursday evening.

Listen to Preston and Steve Thursday Morning for the information you will need to get a copy of the LXSG comic book. There will be a special password you will need to say in order to get a copy. I used the very scientific method of saying Preston- and-Steve-isms until my son laughed. I think he chose wisely. I'll hopefully be able to post updates from the convention.

The Countdown is ON!!!!

(Brian)

Well, The countdown is definately on. We are under two weeks to go until Wizard World Philly gets here.

I have a load of shit to get done before the show so don't expect much more from me until then. I can tell you to expect another visit to the Preston and Steve show before then and I promise some new artwork will be on display at the convention but I have no idea how much... It's eally a crap shoot. I'll see if I can get one of my cohorts to post a few updates here and there in the meantime. Until then, listen to Preston and Steve on WMMR to find out when will be on... Oh yeah, speaking of them, We got two mentions this past Thursday if you caught them... It still makes me giddie to hear them mention the characters...

One last thing before I go, If you haven't already done so, Become a friend of the LXSG over at http://www.myspace.com/lxsg. I really want to push a Myspace blitz if I can.

Alright, I'm out like Pet Rocks.

Preston and Steve's Lost Party

(Brian)

Well, Last night I went to the Lost Party that was thrown at the Troc by WMMR. Sadly, the LXSG comic wasn't printed up in time for the party as I had hoped. As soon as I have an idea about it's release date we will work something out to get the book to some major distribution event. More than likely, it will debut at a comic shop now. It's my next best idea.

However, last night I did bring in a proof of the comic and showed it to the members of the Preston and Steve show. They thought it was hysterical. They were kind enough to bump us back on their site, because they kick ass. Well, keep checking in here for info on the release of the first issue of the League of Extraordinarily Stupid Gentlemen.

My First Post -YAY!!!

(Brian)

Welcome to the official 2 Society Studios Blog. I'm a little new to this whole blogging thing so please be patient with me. But keep your eyes here for all the latest news on the happenings at 2 Society Studios. Also, you can expect to get a look into my sketchbook and see some sneak peeks of Artwork that will appear in Menace 676 or the LXSG.

Speaking of the LXSG, The book is finished and in the hands of the printer... I am really stoked to see how it will look in print. If everything runs smoothly, the first run should be ready by May 23rd for Preston and Steve's Lost Party at the Troc. After that, look for us at Wizard World Philly June 15th to June 17th... Don't worry, we'll remind everyone on the radio the week before.

Well, that's it for my first post, keep checking in.
